King of the hello burger castle

This week we took on some giants (and held our own) at the National Burger Awards. Despite hundreds of applicants from across the UK we here at hello burger found ourselves in the final, competing for the title of Britain’s Best Burger.

Having submitted on of our all time favourites ‘The Smokey Joe” (which is our 6oz Beef Patty, Chipotle Mayo, Smoked Apple wood Cheese, Smoked Streaky Bacon served with Lettuce) we were delighted to get the call to say we were in the National finals, though a little nervous to say the least. Well despite creating a number of epic creations on the day we were not unfortunately named triumphant.

But because it’s not every day you get to compete in the National Burger Awards, we still kind of feel like winners.

Although we didn’t hit the number 1 spot this time, as a small independent restaurant from Sidcup we’re pretty damn proud that out of hundreds of entries from across the UK we were there, at the finals, doing what we love to do – creating and cooking epic burgers.

Our main man Farouk was an absolute superstar (aka King of the hello burger Castle), as he kept his cool and created burgers like a legend. It was our first time competing at this level and we kind of think it won’t be our last… National Burger of the Year 2019 – we’re coming for you!
